Back to Routines...and New Experiences

Vacation was great and the beach was absolutely beautiful.  Oh...wait...we did see a shark!!  It was like a scene from Jaws...people running out of the water, frantically looking for their children.  The lifeguards paddled out and confirmed it was ONLY about a 6 foot long hammerhead.  Crazy...huh?

But no matter how nice vacation is...it's always nice to get back home to your own home, your own bed, and all your other comforts.

I did manage to get myself in a little bit of trouble on the last day of the trip though.  Guess just  being out of our normal element and routine, I was just feeling very full of myself and got a bit sassy.  It was all meant very playfully and Daddy seemed to really enjoy the fact that I was digging quite a hole for myself.

Later that evening, He sent the kids down to the beach because we needed to pack...or so I thought.  As soon as they left, He rummaged through the kitchen drawer in the condo, pulled out a plastic slotted spatula and pointed to the bedroom.

Oooo...I might have poked the bear one too many times!

He bent me over the side of the bed and immediately brought the spatula down on each of my cheeks.  I can't even describe the pain.  I've been spanked plenty of times with a spatula but this time it was so intense that my body immediately tried to bolt back upright.  He tried forcing me back  down with His free hand and after only a few more strikes, the spatula broke.

As He returned to the kitchen, I buried my face in the bed trying to hold back the tears, unsuccessfully I might add and truly regretting my smart mouth.  He returned this time with a wooden spoon and continued paddling hard and fast. There was no chance to count like usual to focus my mind, I just held my breath and waited for it to end.  Within moments afterwards, the kids returned with impeccable timing as always, but just like that, all was right in our world again.

Life since we got home has been crazy getting ready for the kids to start school.  I really enjoy the summertime without worrying about sports, homework, bedtimes, etc. but just like our D/s relationship, our family functions better with structure and routine.  The youngest started middle school this week and the oldest will be starting college in about 10 days.  So, needless to say, I am very happy to be returning to a normal type schedule.

On a different note, there are a couple of things happening this month that I am SUPER excited about.  Both should be fun but will push my limits of comfortability a bit, perhaps alot.  I'm not going give away one of them just yet but the other happens this weekend and I have been looking forward to it now for about a month.  A friend, someone I met at the very first munch I ever attended a couple years ago, invited me to spend the weekend at a clothing optional resort!!

This was an opportunity I just couldn't resist and Daddy wouldn't have wanted me to miss out on it  anyways.  He is always supportive and encouraging me to experience life and have fun, even if it's not something that he isn't interested in doing.

So...as they say...let the good times roll!!

A Little Fun In the Sun

We will be heading out at the end of this week on a much needed vacation.  Of course it will be a family vacation, not necessarily the time alone Heron and I would enjoy but we can dream, right?

So with that...

I will leave you with this lovely, fun image...

Crawling Back to You

The quick little beach get away was wonderful.  It's so relaxing putting your feet in the sand and looking out over a beautiful sea of emerald green waves, but my favorite is just walking on the beach. I'm not a get-in-the-water kind of person though, especially this time of year...just too darn cold.  But I do love to be there.  It's just soothing to the soul.

But yesterday, it was time to come home and Heron and I were definitely ready.  We had plenty of good times and great food and of course the kids wanted to stay longer.  But after several days of being with them 24/7, we were ready to resume some normalcy.

With everyone worn out, the ride home was extremely quiet.  The kids plugged into their music and we just enjoyed the peace.  Heron did make a point of reminding me that now He is feeling better, I do have a punishment awaiting for the missed chores several weeks back and a few other miscellaneous things.  So, I mulled over that for a while.  I don't quite know when or what to expect it but I assume it will be before the weekend is over.  The waiting in and of itself is quite painful in my opinion.

We got home pretty close to bed time so we unloaded the car, spent some time playing with the dogs who are always super excited that we have returned.  Finally, we were alone and He was already lying down waiting when I climbed in on my side of the bed.

There was no doubt He expected to use my mouth so without a moment's hesitation, I crawled across the bed to His side and eagerly took my place between His legs, worshipping and sucking until He found His release.

I love traveling but there is nothing like returning to your own home, your own bed, and all that is familiar.

Reading Between the Lines

The kids are out on Spring Break this week, so we made the long drive down to Florida last night.  This isn't going to be a long trip but hey...we are at the beach and I do have the whole week off work. YAY!!

Not being able to sleep late sure has it's advantages.  This morning, I snuck out of the room and sat  in the hotel breakfast area typing while everyone else kept snoozing away.  Me, my coffee, and my laptop is a nice way to start the day.

So yesterday, we got a late start on our drive because I wanted to attend the local kinky book club meeting.  With our hectic schedules, it's not often that I get the opportunity to get out.  But being that I am much more of a social person, Heron is very generous and actually encourages me to engage in community events as often as possible.

The book for this month was a good one, a short and easy read I might say. And given some of the discussions we have had about my being used by others, I was quickly sucked into the plot when the main female character was loaned out by her owner to a friend for a week.

I purchased the digital copy and then was able to read the 2 sequels for free.

The Gift (or also called The Seven Day Loan) by Tiffany Reisz

Part 2 (free sequel)

Part 3 (free sequel)

I enjoyed this series. But what I really enjoy is getting together to discuss the books afterwards with like-minded people.  A handful of us met at a cute trendy restaurant in town and while we all come from different walks of the lifestyle, it's a great opportunity to share our own lifestyles without judgment.

At the meeting, I had the honor meeting an extremely intelligent and very nice woman who was  intrigued by the details of mine and Heron's dynamic.  Trying to wrap her head around the M/s aspect of our relationship, she had so many great questions and I enjoyed explained how our life works.

The only problem is sometimes my brain doesn't work as fast on the spot as I would like it to.  I do much better once I've had a chance to reflect on questions and then I feel like I can do more justice to the explanation and maybe get more to the root of what someone was asking in the first place.

So one of her questions had to do with "who really had the control?"  And I can see where her question comes from. On one hand, I say that I gave up all control. But to someone on the outside, it may appear that I still have many elements of control in our marriage.

First and foremost I should have explained that I control the things He wishes for me to control and I acknowledge that He could take that away at any time.  Also,  I wouldn't assume control over something without His explicit direction.  It's impossible for Him to deal with everything in our life and He knows where my strengths are so He uses that to His advantage. This is a big difference from how we used to live.  I either took control of everything, or felt like I had to, causing a huge amount of frustration and undue stress on both of us.  Now, I clearly understand the parts of our life that He wants me to handle versus what parts He would prefer to handle.

There are rules and expectations for my behavior which come into play here also.  I understand what He expects of me at all times and when I am tasked to do something, even if I am having to make decisions, He can trust that I am making the choice He would approve of.  If I am unsure of what He would want, I simply ask.  Instead of thinking how I want things done, now when a situation arises, there are a couple of things that come to my mind first.  What would He expect me to do? Or What would please Him?  In my opinion, this was the key to moving in sync through life and eliminating so much of the friction we had battled for years.

Of course, we always have mutual discussions about major decisions.  He appreciates my opinion because many times I can offer a perspective He hasn't thought of, but at the end of the day, if He doesn't agree with me, He will make the final decision.

So I guess the way I see it, I may have some control in how things get done, but I don't have the control.

Vegas Baby!!

dentist-las-vegas-nv

Today, I am going interrupt our regularly scheduled broadcast. For those of you sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for installment 3 from my Saturday exploits...I apologize for making you wait.

Awww...what am I saying?  A little suspense never hurt anyone:)

So, this year, Heron and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary.  Who would have thunk it?

Well, not even me if you had asked about 15 years ago. Whew...those early years were rough!!

During the 22 years we have been together, we have seen some of the happiest times in our life and faced some of the worst.  But we've done it together and I couldn't imagine facing life with anyone else in this whole world.

Ok...sorry to get all side tracked with the mush.  It is close to Valentine's after all.

We are hoping to plan our adult only anniversary trip to Sin City, possibly this summer!!  As we have never been to Vegas before, we've already done a bit of research but I was hoping to maybe get a little advice from you all, my lovely readers.

And while we aren't much for gambling, I hear there is still plenty to see and do (besides me of course-haha)

So what do you say?  Any recommendations on where to stay? Good restaurants? Things to do (kinky or not kinky)?
